Bowling as a Sport

"Australia is a nation of Sports Lovers". Unfortunately most of us will watch it rather than play it. Not all of us are endowed with the ability to compete, especially at representative level or beyond, and fewer of us have the time to make the committment.

Over the years there have been countless numbers of people who have made great achievements in The Sport Of Tenpin Bowling!
Who can guess how many of these same people thought they had no sporting ability, no time to commit, no will to win?
The answer; probably most of them.

Tenpin Bowling is one of the very few, readily available, team or individual sports that almost anyone can play.

Sunset Superbowl membership is fairly representative in the ages, fitness levels, professions, cultures etc., of Australia's Tenpin Bowling Community. At present we have league members under 5 years old up to members in their mid to late 80's. All of these members have one big thing in common;
They all play a Sport!  And not just play it......... Most love it!
It's the same in just about every Bowling Centre Worldwide.

Many of these same people played sports throughout their lives only to find that when fitness levels and health started to deteriorate, they could no longer compete at their desired level. That's the beauty of Tenpin Bowling. You can compete at your OWN level against others doing the same. The result is a very satisfying team or individual sporting experience!

But it doesn't end there!
Beyond the league experience is a whole new world of competition in Tournament Bowling. Most Centres run weekend Tournaments. Sunset Superbowl is no exception. Throughout the year there are potentially dozens of weekend Tournaments of different styles ranging from the novelty type to the full blown ultra-competitive.

Many League Bowlers from around the country take the next step and enter other local, State and National Tournaments. These Tournaments offer competition at varying levels including opportunities to represent Australia in International Competition.

Unfortunately, perhaps the majority of people don't realise that Tenpin Bowling actually is a competitive Sport.
